Social networks on the Internet are virtual groupings of natural persons or legal entities (associations, companies, institutions) enabling their members to discuss and exchange on dedicated websites. Everyone uses them for specific reasons:
Individuals to share information, links, interests, search for people, publish photos, videos, etc ...
The professionals to generate business, to make known their company, their services, to make the economic intelligence, to follow current trends, to make recruitments, etc ...
Social networks have grown exponentially in recent years. Facebook, the best known of them, has grown in three years from 100,000 to 1 million registrations per day in the world!
The strength of social networks is their immediacy and speed. It is enough that a surfer discovers a product, a service or a person that interests him so that he informs in real time all his "friends". The potential of social networks is therefore enormous for companies who want to develop their customer base, their reputation and their turnover

WHAT ARE THE MAIN SOCIAL NETWORKS?

Facebook

It is the most famous social network with its 500 million members, including 15 million in France. It has the advantage of being free. Many people sign up to find former classmates or chat with friends. From a professional point of view, Facebook can be used to present a company, including its services or products. Given its incredible number of users and its growth rate, this site has become an essential medium to exploit to develop the reputation of your company.
Twitter

This is a microblogging service, meaning that users are only allowed to send very short messages: up to 140 characters. Originally created for individuals, Twitter is also used for professionals who want to inform their potential customers in real time: promotion, launch of new products, event operation, etc. This free site is also experiencing a dizzying growth. It now has more than 175 million members worldwide, including 225,000 in France, so that more and more companies use this social network.

LinkedIn

This is the American equivalent of Viadeo. It is also a professional website designed to connect people who want to do business or increase their contacts. The services provided by LinkedIn are comparable to those of Viadeo, but are more targeted at an international target. LinkedIn has nearly 80 million members, including 1.5 million in France. Some services are free, but full access to the site is subject to a subscription fee of $ 24.95 to $ 99.95 per month.
MySpace

This site has features similar to those of Facebook, but it does not address the same target. With its 60 million members, MySpace allows artists to make themselves known (song, dance, photography, etc.). From a professional point of view, this site is interesting for companies or freelancers working in the artistic field wishing to present the services of their company or strengthen their notoriety.
UTILIZING SOCIAL NETWORKS TO DEVELOP YOUR BUSINESS

Improve the visibility of your business

The presence of companies and brands on social networks is becoming more widespread. These sites represent a vector of communication in the same way as traditional media, but present a lower cost and a return on investment much more interesting.
First, as entrepreneurs, whether you are independent or responsible for small and medium-sized businesses, you must create a page on behalf of your company. It will contain the essential information about your company (name, description, area Activity, contacts ...) and will include a link that will return to your official site to generate additional traffic.

Increase the number of leads, build customer loyalty

Social networks are a low-cost marketing tool to boost your sales or increase your customer base.
Facebook and Twitter are very handy to announce the release of a new product or launch an event operation (for example, discounts granted only to people connected to social networks). The information will be quickly relayed among the members of the network so that the generated buzz will attract new prospects.
On the other hand, the use of the Web is increasingly interactive, Internet users (especially individuals) do not hesitate to give their opinion on a particular product or company. So you can have access to interesting user feedback without having to use more complicated surveys or panels to set up.

Optimize your recruitment More and more recruiters are using social networks to hire their future collaborators:
You can publish your job offer on certain social networks to reach either a very wide readership or, on the contrary, a very specific target.
You can take a more proactive approach and scan the different profiles on the Internet to find the ideal candidate.
Moreover, the social network is based on the principle of community. It is therefore possible to be introduced to the person you are interested in, through a member of your network who knows it. This form of co-opting thus saves time to make contact with the most relevant profiles.
Some social networks also allow you to classify your search according to many criteria (by sector, company, gender, etc.). As a recruiter, you will be able to try to get in touch and to poach a person "on standby", already in position, and therefore not necessarily in search of a new job.

3 Essential Components of Any Online Business

If you want to make money online, there are now a million ways to do it. But for just about all business models, there are three essential parts that any online business needs. In this article, I will very briefly go over them and give you some ideas for further research.

1: Content

The foundation is content. Pun intended. Content is the key to a good long-term online business. Why? Because marketing costs time and money. You want to have content that gets passed on naturally through the internet. You still need to do marketing but you’re hoping much of your marketing will be done freely through word-of-mouth. And to leverage word-of-mouth, you need to have quality content worth talking about.

So, spend a lot of time planning and producing your content. Create a content blueprint to organize your content ideas. For me, this blueprint is a list of different types of content. For example:

  • Tutorials
  • Interviews
  • News from the industry
  • Humorous posts
  • Commentary on other people’s articles
  • Videos
  • Audios such as a Podcast
  • Article series
  • List posts
  • Guest Articles

2: Marketing

Next comes marketing. With the growing amount of information on the internet, marketing has become more important. There are many sites with great content that don’t have much traffic because no one knows about them. Marketing is simply the activity of letting people know about your site.

Assuming you’re not hiring a company to do SEO services for you, I would create a marketing blueprint. However, spend most of my marketing time in a few marketing channels. It’s not advisable to stretch your marketing efforts too thin. Marketing channels take time to cultivate before they’re fully effective. Of course, if you have a lot of time for marketing or the money to outsource, go ahead and use more marketing channels. Here are some marketing methods that have proven effective for site owners.

  • Blog commenting
  • Social media
  • Press releases
  • Forum posting
  • Guest blogging
  • Article submissions
  • Producing video

3: Monetization

Finally, we have monetization. Now that you’ve thought about content and marketing, you can focus on converting your traffic into dollars. The key here is understanding your traffic. Why are they coming to your site? What are their problems? What can you sell them that would solve their problems?

Also, think of advertisers with products your audience would find useful. Contact those advertisers and see if they would be partner with you. Here are some methods for monetizing your site.

  • Selling direct advertising
  • Contextual advertising
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Sell your own product or service
  • Asking for donations

Once you have those 3 elements in place, you should be on your way to earning a solid online income.

How Napping Can Keep You Energized

During the winter months cats can serve you as the perfect example of what to do!  A cat will sleep a majority of the day and night when it is too cold to go outside, they hibernate and eat small meals.  “How can a cat sleep so much?”…..you might ask! They find a dark space, in a warm spot, and return to the same napping place everyday, day after day.  Even when the door is opened, if snow is covering the ground, chances are they will turn up their nose and go back to napping indoors.  Most house felines prefer warm paws over cold ones. It’s simple logic, yet it provides a real message to cat lover’s and observers.

But how does napping and hibernating pertain to your business?  You ask,  “what am I supposed to do, close up shop because it’s cold outside? Am I supposed to nap all day until the warmer weather arrives?”

Well, good luck with that idea…..it’s not feasible for humans to truly behave as your cat, since you have other responsibilities that your cat does not have — such as how to earn a living to afford your cat’s food!  However, you can take a page out of your cat’s book and follow their example:

1. Take a nap every day if possible.  If stretching out and pulling up the covers isn’t possible for you every day, you can take a quick ‘cat nap’ during the day by closing your eyes for 5-10 minutes, do some deep breathing and allow your mind to take a rest.  If you work out of your home, as more and more people are unemployed and seeking out home business opportunities, allow yourself a daily napping time around 2 or 3 pm.  Use a relaxation technique such as deep breathing or meditation, or use a CD and headphones; find one that will take you into the Theta state — which is where you will experience deep rest. After you have reached a deep state of rest or theta, you will be naturally energized.  You will have filled your energy tank and will be able to be more productive.  When you keep running on empty, you are depleting your energy reserves.

2. Hibernate during the really cold days.  For a human being hibernation looks like staying indoors and keeping warm when the weather is cold outside.  The cat conserves energy by not getting cold.  Don’t use your energetic chi on trying to stay warm. Avoid the cold and stay as warm as possible. Again the game is to fill your energy tank and NOT deplete it!!!!!

3.  Eat warming foods.  During the winter you will naturally want to eat soups, warm foods, and include some spicy foods.  Additionally, drinking hot tea will keep your body warmed internally.  Ginger Tea is also helpful to warm you up and feels good to your digestion system too. Avoid drinks with ice. Drink lots of room temperature alkaline water.

4.  Sloooooowwww down.  The winter may not be your time to crawl into a cave and hibernate, however, you need to slow down.  There winter weather is the perfect time to re-group, re-energize yourself, re-direct your energies and re-design the direction you are heading.  If you never slow down during the winter, you will miss building up the reserves that you need for the Spring, where you will naturally feel more like

getting outdoors and moving ahead with your projects

5.  Eliminate having too many irons in the fire.  When you are overloaded, you will be ineffective. Simplify. Organize. Focus. Stop the old way of multi-tasking your multi-tasks!  In today’s new world energy, this is going to cause you to lose out on receiving the insights that will guide you into the future. Stay awake and aware and you will be more receptive to the multitude of signs that are available to you.

6.  Enjoy this time of year and the special energy of the winter months. Follow Mother Nature’s of going within, as an example.  If you do this, you will be on track every year.
